Latest News! We are very excited to announce that Sam Carter will be performing a solo show for us, on Saturday 14th October! Sam is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Sheffield, who was named Best Newcomer at the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. You may have seen Sam's appearances on 'Later...with Jools Holland' and also in a specially assembled band to back Richard Thompson at Shrewsbury Folk Festival. More recently, Sam teamed up with Jim Moray to form folk rock band 'False Lights' (think Fairport Convention meets Radiohead). Their album 'Salvor' was subsequently nominated for 'Best Album' in the 2016 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Sam was also a part of the 'Sweet Liberties', an EFDSS project commissioned by Parliament, alongside a group of well known folk artists, including Nancy Kerr and Martyn Joseph.
