The Rock Bottoms were formed in 2012 by Dan Sealey from Ocean Colour Scene and Adam Barry from Merrymouth. This acoustic duo are no strangers to the touring circuit, Dan the bass player with legendary Britpop band Ocean Colour Scene, and Adam, a founder member of Americana band The Misers, have toured the world with their respective bands.

The year 2012, saw the two musicians, along witih Simon Fowler, the singer and songwriter from Ocean Colour Scene, form a new folk band called Merrymouth. With Simon (vocals & guitar) Dan (vocals & guitar) and Adam (piano, organ, accordion, harmonica & backing vocals) they released their critically acclaimed debut album, the self titled, 'Merrymouth' in the same year.

Lending their decades of first class musicianship, Merrymouth were joined in the studio to record the album, by multi award winning folk musicians John McCusker (founding member of Merrymouth, bassist/songwriter Mike McNamara introduced Simon to John McCusker) and Andy Cutting. The band then toured the album throughout 2012 and 2013, including performances at both Chris Evans BBC Radio 2’s 'CarFest' and Children In Need, The Mosely Folk Festival and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2014, Merrymouth returned with their second album, Wenlock Hill, which Adam co produced with Dan. The album once again features John McCusker, and a special appearance from Chas Hodges (Chas 'n' Dave).
