Melbourne Assembly Rooms

We are really thrilled to welcome back, the brilliant Sound of the Sirens, as part of our 5th Birthday celebrations! Abbe Martin and Hannah Wood, Westcountry folk-rock duo Sound of the Sirens released their brand new album This Time in early 2019, on independent label DMF Records.

After performing for us at a sold out gig, at Melbourne Assembly Rooms, for the first time last September, you may now be familiar with their debut album For All Our Sins. This was released in 2017 to wide praise including from R2 Magazine who called it a “stunning debut collection”.

Now, their new album This Time continues to showcase an evident gift for crafting unique, vivid and enduring melodies with 15 catchy and heartfelt songs - all written by Abbe and Hannah, whose voices harmonise beautifully throughout the album.

“This Time is a collection of moments, emotions, challenges and stories,” say the duo. “We’ve collected lyrics, melodies and ideas from the past couple of years for this project. We created this album last winter in an isolated barn in Wales with only guitars, a piano, wine and the dogs for company. The themes of time, love, loss, perseverance, hope and clarity are intertwined in these songs.”

During their live shows, they combine a natural facility for connecting with their audiences and unforgettable performances with warmth, humour and, above all, real conviction. Join us in our intimate show setting, for a night of stunning music - expect a performance of truly captivating songs from this folk rock duo,

blending their intoxicating vocal harmonies with beautifully crafted instrumentals... unmissable!
